Housing Consultation

Trained Housing Advisors provide housing consultations to our members, assisting them to understand the various housing options available to them, investigate the impact of each housing option in terms of their own affordability and finding the best pathway to improved and sustained homeownership

Our housing advisors used customized tools to establish household affordability, investigate funding options (including First Home Finance (old FLISP) from Government and  any other affordable loan options and where relevant company provided support.

During the housing consultation the estimated costs of building work is also investigated and adjusted by the household to meet their estimated affordability.

The Housing Consultation will conclude with an Individual Housing Action Plan that details their pathway to homeownership. Where the service is offered to companies and mines, the relevant terms and conditions of the company or mine’s housing policy will be incorporated in the Housing Action Plan. The Housing Advisor will also ensure that the member have a full grasp of the company or mines housing policy and their responsibility within the policy.

Controlling leakage

The Housing Club can manage the housing funds on behalf of an employer to ensure that all funds are applied directly to the housing transaction and that no leakage occurs along the way. It ensures that the member keeps full control over his funds, but are limited to spend it only on an approved housing expenses in line with the agreed Housing Action Plan. Progress of all building and renovation projects are monitored through a custom designed Building Application, to ensure that service providers are only paid against achieved milestones. Technical building inspection can also be made available throughout the building process.
